*Plays this while you read…it’s only right*

I’ve been tweeting about an announcement I was going to make for about a week or so. I think I might have actually tweeted it earlier than that, but in the event that you might have missed it, here goes.:

I’ve been contracted to work with another website which has found my writing so amazingly awesome, they wish to pay me to write for them.

(Insert Dougie, Cooking Dance, Swag Surfing, Cat Daddy and any old school dance here)

The partnership is with the website www.Chan-Lo.com.

Because I have a great deal of respect for my readers  (plus I understand the propensity for people and their differing responses to change) I figured I’d write this post to explain how this affects you, the reader.

So here goes:

Great. You got signed…What does this mean for your blog?

Good question. I’m signed to write for the site at least twice a month.

I will continue posting on my blog in pretty much the same fashion.  The blog posts specifically for the site will appear something like this…

“Lies and deceit.

Perhaps one of the greatest misnomers I’ve ever experienced, is the fabled “no strings attached” sex.

Not to be confused with the infamous “friends with benefits” sex, “no strings attached” sex, by name and title, is supposed to be sex with…no strings attached.

Wait…I’ll have to start going to another site to read your blog?

Yes and no. I’m only writing for the site twice a month. Generally, I write four posts a month. Two of the four posts will look like the example above, and the others will look like the rest of my blog.

You’re essentially still getting four posts a month on my blog, but the posts that are written exclusively for that site be “featured” on my site and published in full on the other site.

Additionally, I’ll likely end up writing more posts per month. So in effect, this opportunity to get paid for my writing will work for all of you lovely people who come here to read my thoughts and opinions.

I get paid for my work, and I in turn, put out more of my writing. It’s a win – win.

Ok cool…But will the content of your blog change?

No. Chan-Lo found my site through word of mouth, loves the way I write, and doesn’t want to change a thing.

Cliché as it may sound (and even typing the beginning of this sentence was cliché in itself), Chan-Lo respects my artistic merits. The agreement between us is to help build our brands and spread our message.

I wouldn’t work with someone on something as personal as my blog and make any compromises…unless it was Rolling Stone or something. In that case, I might sell all the way out.

So who is this Chan-Lo person anyway and what exactly is the website about?

See for yourself.

And that’s all folks. Thanks for reading and supporting me and my writing over the last couple of years. This is only a small step towards my future of becoming a full-time writer/blogger who gets paid to sit at home and type on Microsoft Word all day.

My viewership has tripled since last year, I’m building relationships via social networking and personal introductions. I love it. I don’t write for awards or recognition, I write because I think it’s an effective way to change lives.

All of you are responsible for this opportunity. If you ever tweeted me, retweeted me, commented on the site/or Facebook, approached me offline, or recommended my site to someone, you’re the reason I got this chance.

And for that, I sincerely, from the bottom of my heart appreciate it.

Peace.
